Programs
We do regulary organise programs at our center but within our work with traditional medicine it is difficult to always schedule and announce all the possebilities and activities at our center through the website. This means that outside the mentioned programs on our website it is usually possible to continue diets with other medicinal plants and trees for longer periods and also possible to participate in individual healing ceremonies in Mazan, other parts of the forest or even in the city of Iquitos if you do not have much time. The prices mentioned on this website include transport to the center. Activities
During our programms in Mazan visitors can start to learn more about the traditional uses of medicinal plants and trees by actively participating in the healing ceremonies and/or plant diets. At our center it is possible to participate almost daily in a healing ceremony and interpretations of visions are explained by Don Juan Curico.
Beside it is possible that we visit locals at their plantations so our visitors can get an idea on how the community people live in the forest nowadays.
Pretty close to our center visitors can take a (daily) swim in the river (Rio Mazan) without any problem and is it possible to see the famous Amazonian river dolpfines.
Also participants will have several opportunaties to do hikes through virgen forest where Don Abraham and/or Don Juan Curico will show medicinal plants and trees with an explanation of it's traditional uses and we may catch some fish from the creeks.
All the activities are in agreement with our visitors; some like to stay at our center to rest in the hammock, to read a book or simply enjoy the concert sounds of the jungle.
What to bring
At our center we have 12 beds, matrasses and mosquito-nets available. We can wash dirty clothes anytime during your stay at our center.
What each visitor has to bring for sure, is a flashlight, good walking shoes/boots and we do recommend to bring at least two longsleeves and two trousers in case there are mosquitos during the hikes we 'll do through the forest. Mosquito repellent could be handy as well and important is not to forget a towel and (natural) soap. Also we recommend to bring rain-clothes and sunblock.
During our way to the center we always have a small break in a small village called 'Mazan' where we can find several shops and a local market and most mentioned things above can be bought there in case you have forgotten something.
At the center we do have phone range when it is a clear day, but we do not have electricity in the center so it is not possible to re-charge your phone. You may want to bring a re-charger that works on solar energy for example.
Costs
Traditional plant diet 8 days, including showers with medicinal plants and flowers and 4 healing ceremonies. Cost: USD 700,00
Traditional plant diet 10 days, including showers with medicinal plants and flowers and 5 healing ceremonies. Cost: USD 750,00
Traditional plant diet 15 days, including showers with medicinal plants and flowers and 6 healing ceremonies. Cost: USD 795,00
If you would come with at least 3 persons we can give groupreductions up to 10%
Which plant or tree is dieted is always in consultation with the local shaman (medicineman) and our visitor. Most commun diets are with Chiric Sanango, Ajos Sacha or Ayahuma.
